Jai, who is scheduled to leave for the US soon on a golf scholarship, scripted a comeback that defines an athlete’s grit. Opening with a 79 at the par-72 course, Jai kept improving. The 76 on Day 2 was followed by the icing on the cake, a level-par card, to lift himself from the overnight fifth to second with a three-day total of 227.

Making the most of the familiar settings, Rakshit Dahiya completed a wire-to-wire win in A Boys. A final day 75 gave Rakshit, also a DGS Camp of Excellence student, a three-shot win with a total of 224.

In A Girls, Mannat Brar too stepped up in her way with an under-par 71 to win by seven shots with a 218. Kashika Misra followed the DGS pupil at 225 after shooting a 76 on the last day.

As is often the case, Camp of Excellence students ruled the roost, and was brought to the fore again by Ranveer Mitroo’s show with a final day 72 for his best card this week in B Boys. The 221 gave him a five-shot cushion over Kartik Singh, who too shot his best score with a 73.

In girls in this category, Prarthana Khanna and Ayesha Dutt were the top names. While Prarthana finished with a three-day total of 232, Ayesha was three shots back at 235.
