Parth Raman Sood stands out as another edition of NCR Cup concludes

The final day of the Delhi Golf Society’s NCR Cup 7th Junior Golf Tournament had all the ingredients of a runaway success.

Rajyeveer Sultania won the College division in a playoff, Parth Raman Sood worked his way up in ‘A’ Boys with a superlative 6-under 61 to not only win in his category, but Friday’s low card also got him the combined honours in ‘A’ and ‘B’ Boys.

Compared to Day 1, Rajyeveer (71, 75) had a poor outing at the par-67 Jaypee Wish Town, but so did his challenger Vijayant Pundir (72, 74). Both finished at 146, and Hole 1 was the scene of their playoff hole, which Rajyeveer birdied.

Overnight 8th, Parth (72, 61) could do no wrong on the day as he surged up the leaderboard. Overnight leader Hiransh Singh (67, 69) finished second, one shot ahead of Sukhman Singh (69, 68).

Sakshi Khushwaha, the lone entry in ‘A’ Girls, showed remarkable recovery with a card of 76 after Thursday’s 91.

In ‘B’ Boys, Ranveer Mitroo (67, 69) prevailed by two shots at 136. Overnight 72, Samarveer Singh Maini went 1 under-par to share the second spot with Uday Aditya Middha (65, 73).

After a 76, Myra Kumar slipped but despite the 80, she won by a shot in ‘B’ Girls. Aaliya Bairoliya (81, 76) was ahead of the three-way tie for the third spot between Gauri Joshi (85, 82), Ashem Agnish (80, 87) and Nora Beniwal (78, 89).

Aney Shankkar (69, 73) maintained his top perch in ‘C’ Boys and despite the slip on the final day, won by three shots over Zoravar Singh Toor (73, 72) and Arihaan Beri (72, 73).

Nyra Singh (81, 84), Smira Bhambari (82, 86), Anushka Singh Malik (90, 87) made up the top-three spots in ‘C’ Girls.

The hierarchy stayed unchanged in ‘D’ Boys as Raajveer Singh (70, 73) won by a whopping 15-shot margin. Aditya Misra followed with scores of 80, 78. Shan Alvi (87, 85) and Zubin Mehta (83, 89) were tied for third.

Aanya Dandriyal (84, 91), Anishka Varma (99, 98) and Neeva Beniwal (108, 101) made up ‘D’ Girls.

Kabir Goyal (32, 33) upstaged overnight leader Avviraaj Kalia (31, 35) to win ‘E’ Boys. Jot Sarup Gupta (36, 36) was the other name in this group.
