Ludvig Åberg will take a two-shot lead into the final round of the BMW PGA Championship as he looks to add a Rolex Series title to his recent meteoric rise at Wentworth Club.
The Swede turned professional in June after a stellar amateur career that saw him become a collegiate superstar en route topping the World Amateur Golf Ranking.

His transition into the paid ranks has been seamless, with a maiden DP World Tour victory in Switzerland earlier this month followed by selection to take on the United States in the Ryder Cup at Marco Simone Golf and Country Club.

A 66 on day three moved him to 16 under and the 23-year-old now has the chance to make it back-to-back wins, with Ryder Cup team-mate Tommy Fleetwood and Scot Connor Syme his nearest challengers.

It is six years since Alex Noren became the first Rolex Series champion at Wentworth and Åberg is looking to become just the second Swede to win in the Rolex Series and at this historic event.
Due to the inclement weather forecast for Sunday afternoon, round four will be a two tee start from holes one and nine between 08:20 and 10:30.
Player Quotes
Ludvig Åberg: It was a lot of fun. I felt like I was striking the ball pretty good today even though I had a few left misses with my driver but ended up with some key saves here and there, and then with a few nice shots coming in.
I think even if I wasn’t leading, I’d be looking forward to playing a Sunday round at Wentworth. Such an iconic place and I’m just fortunate to play good golf the last three days and hopefully I’ll keep playing.
I almost got a little bit of way warm up the first two days playing with Rory, a lot of stuff going on. I felt like I handled it well the last two days and did the same today where I kept my feet where they are and tried to focus on one shot at a time. Hopefully I’ll do the same tomorrow and play some good golf.
Switzerland was cool coming from behind with my first win and playing well over the back nine gave me a belief that I can do it and I can do it on this stage. But at the end of the day, it just golf and that’s what I try to do, hit every shot as good as I can.
Connor Syme: To be fair, what a back nine. Excited for the challenge tomorrow. I bounced back to be in this position, so I think that’s what’s so great about this golf course is so much can change and so much can happen.
It’s going to be difficult. There’s so, so many people here, and it is a lot of fun playing in front of so many people. I look at it as it’s going to be a challenge.
But I’ve been saying to a few people, it’s just trying to commit to my golf shots and trying to execute that the best I can and then regardless, I can’t be disappointed that’s it. Acknowledge that I’ll be nervous but just try and play through it, if I can could do that, I’ll be proud of myself either way.
It would mean early to win on the Tour and it would be amazing, obviously this tournament would be incredible. But yeah, very pleased to start, but there’s so many great players up there, I’ll have to play an amazing round of golf tomorrow.
Tommy Fleetwood: Yesterday was a really, really great round of golf, and today after not getting off to a fast start, the round turned around very quickly on 4 and 5 and just played really well. Any time I was in trouble I managed to hit a really good shot out of trouble and for the most part the rest was really solid and gave myself a lot of chances. It’s not an easy golf course at all. So, great round, 5-under on a Saturday.
I’m obviously doing a lot of the right things. I think the work that I’ve done physically off the course and on my swing as well has been great. Overall consistency and doing the right things and feeling very positive about that and then feeling comfortable at the top end of the leaderboard. Really want to keep it going. Worked hard early this week and felt good on the golf course. Another good day and see what happens.
They have been great. It’s so much fun playing in front of a crowd like this, and you’re getting rooted for all the way around. I’d love tomorrow to play well down the stretch and give them something to cheer about. It’s such a cool atmosphere to play in. I look forward to that and keeping the crowd on myself.
It’s a huge event and something that everybody on The DP World Tour aims for in their career, and playing tomorrow with a chance and hopefully to be able to do it would really be great. I really look forward to it.
