Takashi Ogiso marched one shot clear following the third round of The Crowns on Saturday, edging closer to his relentless pursuit of a maiden victory on the JGTO after nine years as a professional.

The two-time ABEMA Tour winner, who began the day one shot off the pace, carded a two-under-par 68 after recording six birdies against two bogeys and a double bogey at Nagoya Golf Club Wago Course, advancing to 10-under 200 for the tournament.
Naoyuki Kataoka birdied the final hole for a solid 67 to ensure he remained in close pursuit of Ogiso in solo second place, while Ren Yonezawa and overnight leader Tatsunori Shogenji signed for 67 and 72 respectively, sharing the third spot on eight-under total.

South Korea’s Song Young-han carded a 68 to be the top-performing international player, tied for eighth on 204, one shot ahead of South Africa’s Shaun Norris (69) and Michael Hendry of New Zealand (73), tied for 11th.
A thrilling finale is on the horizon, with all top 13 players separated by just five shots.
Ogiso was delighted to be in pole position for such a prestigious event with a rich history.

“It’s truly gratifying. Playing in the final group on the last day of The Crowns is a dream I’ve had since childhood. While there’s pressure to perform, I’m simply happy to be in this position,” said Ogiso.
“While it’s a competitive environment, focusing on my own game is paramount. Without that, I could struggle anywhere on the course.
“Given the excellent conditions this week, my priority is to play my best and let the result take care of itself.
“Winning this title isn’t a matter of luck. It requires a week of solid performance, and having this opportunity boosts my confidence.”
