Making his fourth start at the RBC Canadian Open and first since 2018, Joel Dahmen (3rd) records a 5-under 65 during the second round; seeks second PGA TOUR title in his 196th start; played 45 events over five seasons on PGA TOUR Canada (2010-2014) and collected two wins in 2014 (The Syncrude Boreal Open Presented by AECON, PC Financial Open) that finished at the top of the Order of Merit, earning him status on the Korn Ferry Tour.

Andrew Novak (T4/-7) seeks his maiden PGA TOUR title in debut appearance at the RBC Canadian Open; owns three top-10 finishes this season (T8/WM Phoenix Open, T8/Mexico Open at Vidanta, T9/Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches).

The low Canadian on the leaderboard is Mackenzie Hughes (T4/-7), who is making his eighth start in the event (best result: T8/2018); defending champion Nick Taylor, who became the first Canadian to win the event since 1954, cards 36-hole 143 to miss the cut; in 14 prior starts this season, has made 11 cuts (best finish: 1st/WM Phoenix Open).

18-hole leader David Skinns follows 8-under 62 with a second-round 1-over 71 and is T4.
