A tournament of this stature requires an iconic venue, and there can’t be a setting better than the Delhi Golf Club (DGC).

Like the past editions, the 16th Junior Golf Tournament was keenly contested and witnessed quality performance across the Lodhi and Peacock Courses.

Showing remarkable skills at recovery, Ranveer Mitroo stepped up from the opening day’s 76 to shoot two under-par rounds of 71 to win Category A Boys with a three-day total of 218, eight shots better than Yash Chaudhary 226 (75, 77, 74).

Among girls, Anvvi Dahiyya began the week with a one-under 71, but despite not being able to keep the momentum going, the rounds of 74, 72 for a total of 217 were enough to give her a comfortable nine-shot win over Kashika Misra 216 (78, 76, 72).

Anas Khan is an example of what perseverance can achieve. Reared on the greens of DGC, the teenager has improved by leaps and bounds, and posted a win in B Boys with a three-day total of 223 (70, 78, 75). The result would be of immense satisfaction for Anas as he left the competition far behind, winning by 11 shots over Sakshity Pureandre 234 (78, 76, 80).

Anas also had the distinction of finishing second in A&B Boys combined behind Ranveer, and ahead of Yash.

Yogya Bhalla was the top name among B Girls, emerging with a three-day total of 228 (76, 76, 76) over the second-placed bunch of Rashi, Rehnoor Malik and Ayesha Gupta at 239.

Anvi also topped the combined category of A&B Girls, and was followed by Kashika and Yogya.

Shan Alvi totalled 61 (32, 29) over two days at the par-62 Peacock Course to register a two-shot win over Drona Singh Dhull 63 (32, 31). Samar Baijal and Jot Sarup Gupta were bunched at third with a total of 64.

D Girls witnessed a see-saw battle as Unnati Singh and Aaradhya Rawat vied for supremacy. Unnati shot a 31 on Day 1 to take a comfortable lead over the rival (38), but Aaradhya fought back on the final day to card a 33 against Unnati’s 39. But despite the recovery, she fell short by a shot as Unnati won with a total of 70.

Shooting rounds of 33 and 31 for a total of 64, Vedansh Jain mounted the podium as the winner in E Boys with a three-shot cushion over Kabir Kanwar 67 (33, 34). Taanush Kumar followed the duo with a 72 (37, 35).

Aishna Jain touched the summit in E Girls courtesy rounds of 32 and 39 for a total of 71. Aahana Shrivastava trailed by two shots at 73 (36, 36), and was followed by Naaysha S Sinha at 76 (38, 38).
