Daiki Imano maintained his position atop the leaderboard by carding a one-under-par 69 to take the clubhouse lead with his two-day total of four-under-par as inclement weather forced second round play at The Crowns to be disrupted on Friday.

Imano’s position is likely to be threatened by Juvic Pagunsan when play resumes on 6:50am on Saturday. The Filipino is three-under through 11 holes and will be looking to resume his momentum after reeling in two consecutive birdies before the sirens blew to signal the suspension of play.

When asked to reflect on his round, Imano said: “It wasn’t a great round, and I didn’t have many chances, so it was tough. But I feel like I somehow managed to hold it together.

“During the play suspension, I was completely out of the zone. I even started wondering if we would play at all. But once we resumed, I snapped back into focus. We are only halfway through the tournament, and there is still a lot of golf to be played. So, I’m not thinking about winning yet.”
Kota Kaneko, meanwhile, signed for a 68 to reach the clubhouse safely to stay in the mix.
