
Participants in Event 4 of the Indian Golf Union’s North Zone Junior and Sub-Junior Feeder Tour were faced with a stiff task this week.

Any outing at the Forest Hill Golf Resort in Mohali demands the players to turn up with their ‘A’ game as nothing less suffices.
Going with the requirements of the par-66 layout, Fatehbir Singh logged scores of 75, 70 to edge out Neeraj (78, 67) in ‘A’ Boys with a two-day score of 145. There was a yawning gap after that, and the third spot was taken by Madhav Sobti 156 (73, 83).
Raza Kaur was among the standout performers as she not only captured the top spot among ‘A’ Girls, her scores were impressive as well. Shooting 68, 67 for a total of 3-over 135, Raza won hands down with Prabhleen Kaur, next in line, managed 76, 75 to total 151. Hunar Gill was third with a total of 166 (88, 78).
The competition in ‘B’ Boys was a close affair as well, and after two days of no inch being yielded, Samriddh Chand Thakur (70, 77) beat the challenge of Aryaveer Singh Grewal (78, 69) after the two tied at 147. Puranjy Rawal was the next-best name with a total of 159 (82, 77).
Among girls in this category, Bhakti Mansukhani topped with a total of 143 (75, 68). She was followed by Divija Bhushan Rao at 152 (78, 74) and Ojawini Mahajan 152 (75, 77).

Category ‘C’ witnessed an impressive turnout, and making his way to the top among the boys was Shan Alvi. The ever-improving player scaled one more peak by finishing under-par at 4-under 128 with rounds of 67 and an impressive 61 to win by a mammoth margin over Viraj Sehgal 143 (66, 77). Fatehvir Singh 146 (73, 73) took the third spot.
Padam Vibhuti 142 (72, 70) was convincing in her win in ‘C’ Girls with the cushion over Aaliyah Kalra 157 (83, 74) and Vidushi Singh 163 (81, 82).
Ojasv Saraswat was another standout name as he topped ‘D’ Boys with a total of 121 by shooting under-par on both days with rounds of 62 and 59. Avviraaj 123 (63, 60) and Md Rehaan 128 (62, 66) made it a unique finish with all three podium finishers going under-par.
The tenor was the same in ‘D” Girls with Aaradhya Rawat 127 (61, 66) and Unnati Singh 129 (63, 66) going low. Aadhya Kaushal was third at 138 (69, 69).
The tiny tots in Category E were equally impressive. Playing nine holes both days, Gitansh Singh Pathania 61 (33, 28), Vairajvir Mahajan 63 (31, 32) and Aprateem 64 (33, 31) completed the podium.
In girls, Dhriti Singh 65 (32, 33), Devyani Dhull 66 (34, 32) and Mahira Sharma 66 (34, 32) mounted the podium.
The Category E contestants ensured that their tender age had no bearing on the competitive spirit with some impressive scoring. Kairav Gupta 73 (36, 37), Jehan Singh Brar 83 (41, 42) and Snitik Singh Thakur 85 (44, 41) made the top three, while among girls it was Amairaa Kaushal 90 (48, 42) and Ojasvi Diwan 97 (51, 46).
