Teenage amateur Pritish Singh Karayat shot a seven-under 65 to establish an imposing five-shot lead after round one of Pre-Qualifying II of the PGTI Qualifying School 2026 being played at the Kensville Golf & Country Club in Ahmedabad.

Seventeen-year-old Pritish Singh Karayat, who hails from the Delhi Golf Club, put together eight birdies and a bogey in his opening round. One of the highlights of his round was the 20-feet conversion on the 10th.

Pritish, who has been part of the Indian team at the junior and amateur level and has a winner and runner-up finish on the amateur circuit, said, “It was a solid round as my tee shots, iron-play and putting were top-notch. I made a lot of regulations and didn’t miss too many putts.”

The seasoned Gurki Shergill along with Divyansh Dubey as well as amateurs Ayaan Gupta and Arindam Sudan were all tied second at two-under 70.
