Cameron Tringale posted a bogey-free 5-under 66 for a one-shot lead at the 3M Open as he nears his first career PGA Tour title in his 307th start.
The only 54-hole leader/co-leader in the last 12 Tour events to convert for the win was Phil Mickelson (PGA Championship).
Gary Woodland overcame a double bogey at the first hole with birdies on five of his next six to post 4-under 67 to trail a shot behind Tringale at 11-under 202.
In addition to birdies at Nos. 1, 2 and 16, Tringale eagled the par-5 12th on his way to a bogey-free 5-under 66.
It marked the second occasion he holds a 54-hole lead/co-lead on Tour since the 2019 John Deere Classic/T16).
On the strength of an 8-under 63 in round three last year, he finished T3 at the 2020 3M Open.

Four of his 26 top-10 finishes have come in the 2020-21 season.
The three-time runner-up remains in search of his first career Tour title in his 307th start this week. He holds the distinction of having the most starts on Tour without a win since 2009.
Making his first start in the 3M Open, Woodland followed a double bogey at the first hole with birdies on five of his next six en route to a 4-under 67. He seeks a fifth career Tour title and first since the 2019 U.S. Open.
Maverick McNealy closed in on his third top-5 finish of the season and fifth consecutive top-30 finish.
K.H. Lee shot four birdies against a lone bogey for a 68 to move up to T12, 3 behind the leader. Hit 11 fairways and 14 greens in regulation. He is looking for his first top-10 since winning first Tour title at the AT&T Byron Nelson in May.
In his first 3M Open start, Maverick McNealy (T2/-11) made three birdies and no bogeys in bid for his first career Tour title. He has two top-5 finishes this season: 2nd/AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, T4/RBC Heritage.
Making his third start in the 3M Open, Pat Perez (T4/-10) has played his last 42 holes without a bogey; two bogeys this week ties his record for fewest through 54 holes in a PGA Tour event.
Rickie Fowler (T29/-6) was 6-under through 10 holes before bogeys at 13 and 14 and a triple-bogey-8 at the par-5 18th resulted 1-under 70. His score at No. 18 marks the highest score of his career to finish a round; through three rounds, has played Nos. 1-12 in 11-under par and Nos. 13-18 in 5-over par.
