Kartik Sharma did not feel well going into this week of PGTI MP Cup at the Delhi Golf Club. Three weeks of continuous and intense golf were tiring, physically and mentally, and need was felt for a time out.
Kartik travelled to an animal shelter to be among abandoned souls. The selfless love he received was another reminder of what he had experienced when the second wave raging — there is more to life than golf.
Though short, the break was a diversion and enough to reignite the fire as the animal lover chases a breakthrough in golf. Kartik is hovering near the summit, and the hope is it’ll get better with two days to go.

Over the years, Khalin Joshi has had a chequered relationship with the Delhi Golf Club. The going was good on the old Lodhi Course in the amateur days, and it continued after turning pro.
Then came a phase when the two were at loggerheads, and it reflected in a string of missed cuts.
The last time Khalin turned out here was before the redesign, but that week of 2018 was special. Khalin won the Panasonic Open for his breakthrough on the Asian Tour.
The PGTI MP Cup is Khalin’s first outing since then, and the new design is to his liking. This, coupled with the memories and the two-shot lead, the ingredients are right for another high on Friday.
