Sweden’s Linn Grant rounded off an excellent week in France producing a final round of 72 to win the Terre Blanche Ladies Open by four shots.

Heading into the final day, the 22-year-old held a six-shot lead after rounds of 68 (-4) and 66 (-6) on her first two days.

It was a slow start to the round for Grant who bogeyed her second hole and then made a double bogey on the fifth, but she bounced back with a birdie on the seventh.

The former Arizona State University player began her back nine in style with an eagle on the 10th and birdied 13, before dropping shots on 15 and 17.

However, a final birdie on 18 ensured she produced a level-par final round to finish on 10-under-par and win her first tournament as a professional.

In second place was Danish amateur Amalie Leth-Nissen, who shot a final round of 69 (-3) to be four shots behind Grant.

The Junior Solheim Cup winner had an excellent front nine with four birdies and one bogey, before making another birdie on 10 and then dropping a shot on 17 to finish on six-under-par for the week.

“My game was pretty solid throughout the whole round, and I started well. I placed myself in a good position and was -4 after 8 holes, but unfortunately I made a bogey on the ninth after being in the water,” said Leth-Nissen. “The last holes were a combination of being close to the birdie but also having to fight for my par, but in the end, it was a great round.

“It was a beautiful course and venue with so many volunteers making the tournament a success. I had a good time with the professionals during the three rounds and it was nice to see that I can compete on LETAS – even though Linn was in a league of her own this week!”

Belgian Charlotte De Corte finished in third place on four-under-par after producing rounds of 72, 69 and 71 at Golf de Terre Blanche, while Scotland’s Rachael Taylor ended the tournament in fourth place after a final round of 70.

Two players were T5 on one-under-par including England’s Lily May Humphreys, who has climbed back to the top of the Order of Merit, and Belgian amateur Savannah De Bock, who was also a winning member of this year’s European PING Junior Solheim Cup team.

Rounding out the top ten on even par were four players: Spain’s Maria Herraez Galvez, France’s Emilie Alonso, England’s Gemma Clews and Russia’s Nina Pegova.

Another top-ten result means with one event remaining, Pegova has secured her card for the 2022 LET season.
