The IGU Eastern India Amateur Golf Championship which is being played at the Royal Calcutta Golf Club entered the match-play stage on an exciting note.
There was a 6-way play-off for 5 slots to decide the top 32 qualifiers for the match-play between [1] Aryan Roopa Anand, [2] Bishmal Pal Singh, [3] Harimohan Singh, [4] Gurmehr Bindra, [5] Rohit, and [6] Vaibhav Nair of Delhi
In the very first playoff hole, 4 players made par, and that left Gurmehr and Bishmadpal Singh Sheera to fight it out for the last spot in the match-play. They played the playoff hole thrice with Bishmadpal winning the final spot.
Earlier in the stroke-play round, Rohan Dhole Patil played some quality golf of 1-under par to take a four-stroke lead over the first round leader and local boy Souvik Nayak and Rajesh Gautam.

The best rounds for the day of 2 under par came from 2 seeded Rajesh Gautam, and Vishv Pratap Singh who is seeded 8th in the match play round.
The first match of the day which is between IGU merit list ranked number 1 Rohan Dhole Patil VS Aryan Roopa Anand who is ranked number 2 on the IGU Merit List promises to be a nail-biting affair.
