Seher Atwal played her first qualifying school on the Ladies European Tour in Spain recently, and though she missed making final stage of Q-School by a shot, the experience of competing in another country and against a global field has been an eye-opener for her.
Not only did Seher realise where she stands vis-a-vis the competition, but the yawning gap between professional and amateur golf also is not lost on the rookie pro.
Through this journey, Seher’s elder sister Meher Atwal played an important role, mentoring her little sister and being on the bag during her international stint and at home in recent Women’s Golf Association of India (WGAI) events.

At the start of the year, Seher started competing on the WGAI season and won her maiden title at the Poona Club Golf Course in February and finished runner-up in a couple of events, the latest being at the Royal Calcutta Golf Club last week.
The learning’s on and Seher Atwal will be back next year to push the limits. Atop the list stays competing on the LET Access Tour and putting her best foot forward at LET’s Q- School.
