Esme Hamilton clinched her breakthrough Ladies European Tour (LET) victory at last week’s Investec SA Women’s Open.
The English star has travelled straight to Mauritius for the inaugural edition of the MCB Ladies Classic – Mauritius and is hoping to continue her form.

A field of 120 players will be teeing it up in a 54-hole stroke play competition on the Legend Course at the Constance Belle Mare Plage.
Hamilton, who has moved up to fourth in the LET Order of Merit, is enjoying her first trip to Mauritius and has ambitions to win again.

“It’s a privilege to be able to sit here today and be part of this press conference and absolutely, I’ve got that ambition to keep winning on the LET,” she said.
“It would be amazing to go back-to-back and why not? Someone’s got to win. Why not me? We’ll see what the week brings. One shot at a time, but that would be amazing.
“We had a player’s welcome dinner last night and I was able to relax a little bit there and enjoy it, but throughout the day I’m focused on the golf course, but it’s also so beneficial to be able to switch off and what a beautiful place to be able to switch off away from the golf course.”
Having secured her maiden victory on Tour, Hamilton hasn’t been home yet to celebrate with her family.
However, she was able to speak to them over video call and has received a lot of messages since Sunday.

She continued: “[My family] They’re as supportive as ever. I had a lovely four-way FaceTime with my family after the win when I was still at the golf course. My extended family, we have a big Scottish family, I had young cousins watching and they’re not into golf at all.
“I think that comes back to what we hopefully achieve as a tool is getting fresh faces excited about watching golf. But I had members of my golf club messaging and watching at the golf club. The support’s been amazing and I couldn’t appreciate it more.”
The Legend Course will provide a testing challenge this week with tight tee shots and small greens to contend with.
Hamilton knows all areas of her game will be tested, as well as her body with potential for very hot and humid conditions throughout the tournament.

She added: “I’d say off the tee, it’s very important to keep it in play. There are also beneficial sides on each fairway to be on, and the greens are small. I think every single element of our games will be tested on this course.
“It’s in excellent condition, especially after the wee bit of rain we got at the start. Thank you to all of the golf club staff for getting it in great condition. I’m really excited. It’s a beautiful golf course.
“That’s why managing yourself is really important, making sure you’re getting electrolytes and as you say, hydrate very well. Not pushing too hard on practice but also when it comes into play. So, making sure that you’re taking sufficient rest because the heat does take it out of you.”
