Jon Rahm lined up for third win of season with 65 at Riviera

Jon Rahm (1st/-15) is in search of his 10th career win and third this PGA Tour season.

Rahm posted a bogey-free 6-under 65 on Day 3 of The Genesis Invitational to mark his 49th career bogey-free round on TOUR and 41st since 2018 (most of any player).

A win on Sunday would mark the first time in his career to earn three victories in one season.

He shares the 54-hole lead/co-lead for the ninth time in official strokeplay events on TOUR, winning three of previous eight, including his most recent (2023 American Express); also won 2019 Zurich Classic of New Orleans after holding the 54-hole lead/co-lead.

His final-round scores in four previous appearances at The Genesis Invitational – 71 (2019), 72 (2020), 66 (2021), 65 (2022).

Holds the TOUR’s longest active made-cut streak (24) with his last missed cut coming from the 2021 Fortinet Championship.

Max Homa (2nd/-12) is in search of his seventh PGA TOUR title and fifth in his native state California.

At the 2021 Genesis Invitational, Homa was T2 entering the final round before going on to win.

Homa’s last five wins have been in come-from-behind fashion.

A win Sunday will mark the first time in his career to earn three victories in one season.
The 2021 Genesis Invitational winner is making his seventh start in the event; has three consecutive top-10s (T5/2020, Won/2021, T10/2022).

After a missed cut in his first appearance at the event in 2019, Keith Mitchell (3rd/-11) posted his third consecutive round in the 60s (64-69-69) in bid for his second career title.

Patrick Cantlay (4th/-10) posted a 3-under 68 in bid for his second top 10 in his fifth start this season (previous: T2/Shriners Children’s Open); best finish in seven previous starts at The Genesis Invitational (T4/2018).

In his sixth appearance at The Genesis Invitational, Gary Woodland (5th/-9) posted a third-round 67, highlighted by four birdies and an eagle on the par-5 11th.

Denny McCarthy’s (T6) 7-under 64 in the third round marked his second score in the 60s in 11 rounds at Riviera CC (69/R1/2020).

Collin Morikawa (T6/-7) ended his streak of rounds in the 60s at Riviera CC with a 72 (+1) in his fourth start in the event where he finished runner-up in 2022; in six starts this season, has a runner-up (Sentry Tournament of Champions) and third-place finish; most recent of five TOUR titles was 2021 Open Championship.

Tiger Woods (T26/-3) posted a third-round 4-under 67, highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 1st hole; marked his 189th eagle on TOUR and ninth at The Genesis Invitational.

World No. 2 Rory McIlroy fell 11 positions from T7 to T18, recording 2-over 73.
