PGA Tour rookie Jacob Bridgeman (1st/-8) carded his career-low round with an 8-under 63 at the 3M Open; previous-low round in an individual stroke-play event was 65 (most recently in R3 of the 2024 Texas Children’s Houston Open).

Holds first lead after any round on TOUR in his 23rd start.

Enters the week at No. 133 in the FedExCup Playoffs and Eligibility Points List and could move as high as No. 63 with a win; top 70 after the Wyndham Championship advance to the Playoffs.

Would become the second rookie winner in as many weeks on TOUR (Nick Dunlap/Barracuda Championship).

Would join inaugural champion Matthew Wolff (2019) as the only players to win the 3M Open in debut appearance.

Finished No. 2 in the 2022 PGA TOUR University Ranking to earn Korn Ferry Tour status (Clemson University graduate).

Mackenzie Hughes (2nd/-7) recorded his best opening-round score since a 63 at the 2021 RSM Classic; enters the week No. 50 in the FedExCup standings as he seeks second trip to the TOUR Championship (14th/2020).

Sahith Theegala (T6/-5), the highest-ranked player in the field in the FedExCup standings (7) and Official World Golf Ranking (11), turned in a bogey-free 66; missed the cut in three prior starts at the 3M Open (2020, 2022, 2023).

University of Minnesota graduate Ben Warian (T46/-2) posts a 2-under 69; the last
sponsor exemption to win on TOUR is Nick Dunlap at the 2024 American Express; other amateurs in the field: Luke Clanton (T87/E), Tobias Jonsson (T107/+1), Ben James (T151/+5).

Nick Dunlap, who won last week’s Barracuda Championship to become the first player to win a PGA TOUR event as an amateur and a professional in the same season, carded an even-par 71.
