He set the tournament’s opening 36-hole score of 16-under 126; previously 14-under 128, set by Matt Kuchar in 2018.

Since the start of the 2020-21 season, there have been seven opening 36-hole scores of 126 or better on PGA TOUR. Henley has recorded three of them.
He hit 12-of-14 fairways in both rounds and leads the scrambling category at a perfect 9-for-9.

His best finish in four previous starts in the event was T29 in his first start of 2018. He
comes off a 2021-22 TOUR season highlighted by four top-10 finishes in 22 starts; best: P2/Sony Open in Hawaii.
A three-time winner on TOUR, he seeks his first victory since the 2017 Cadence Bank Houston Open.

Following his opening-round 7-under 64, Sam Ryder (T2/-13) birded seven of his first nine holes (Nos. 1,2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9) en route a 6-under 65; making his sixth start at the World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba (best result: 54th/2018).

Brian Harman (T6/-10) aced the par-3 fourth hole from 113 yards (pitching wedge), which he followed with three consecutive birdies on Nos. 5-7 en route a 5-under 66.
Playing this week on a sponsor exemption, Harry Higgs (T6/-10) tied his career-low score on the PGA TOUR with a bogey-free 9-under 62 (R2/2020 Fortinet Championship). His round included seven birdies and an eagle-2 at the par-4 third hole from 86 yards (lob wedge).
