Became the first player to hole a shot from off the green to win since Matthew Wolff at the 2019 3M Open.

With the win at Colonial Country Club, Burns moved to No. 2 in the FedExCup with 2,101 points (1,041 behind Scheffler).

With the win, tied Nick Price (1994) for the largest final-round comeback by a winner in Charles Schwab Challenge history.

For the second week in a row, the winner emerged via a playoff after beginning the day seven strokes back (Justin Thomas/PGA Championship).

Burns becomes the second player with more than two wins this season, joining Scheffler (4) PGA TOUR titles: 2021 Valspar Championship, 2021 Sanderson Farms Championship, 2022 Valspar Championship, 2022 Charles Schwab Challenge.

In two previous Charles Schwab Challenge starts, Burns missed cut in 2018 and finished T31 in 2019.

Scheffler (P2/-9) made two bogeys and no birdies for a 2-over 72, marking the second occasion to not card at least one birdie or better in a round (2016 U.S. Open Rd 2).

After holding a share of the 18-and 36-hole lead, World No. 1, FedExCup leader moved into sole possession of the lead following a 2-under 68 in round three.

He would have become the first FedExCup leader to win the Charles Schwab Challenge. Was looking for the first five-win season on TOUR since Justin Thomas in 2016-17.

Would’ve become the fourth player (fifth instance) since 1960 to net five TOUR wins in a season before the June 1 (Arnold Palmer/1960/1962, Johnny Miller/1974, Tom Watson/1980).

In search of his fourth career PGA TOUR title and first since the 2019 World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba, Brendon Todd closed with a 1-over 71 to finish third at 8-under 272. It marked his second top-10 finish of the season (T8/Valero Texas Open). His maiden TOUR title came at the 2014 AT&T Byron Nelson.

Seeking his eighth top-10 finish in 10 starts at the Charles Schwab Challenge, 2016 champion Jordan Spieth closed with an even-par 70 to finish T7; in addition to his 2016 win, finished runner-up in 2015, 2017 and 2021.
