Starting his round on the back nine, Shogenji made a scorching start with four birdies and an eagle on holes 10, 12, 14, 17, and 18 to make the turn in 30.
After three steady pars on the front nine, his only blemish came with a bogey on the par-five fourth. He bounced back immediately with a birdie at the fifth and closed strongly with another birdie on the 9th.

“I stayed calm out there and the greens were easier today, so I was able to be more aggressive and go at the pins. I had more birdie chances than yesterday, and overall, it’s a course that really suits me. Hopefully, I can keep this up until the end,” said Shogenji.
