Scottie Scheffler’s (T1/-5) 135 after Day 2 of the PGA Championship marks his second-lowest 36-hole total in a Major (low: 133/2021 Open Championship/T8).

This is his eighth 36-hole lead/co-lead on the PGA TOUR (2-for-7 in converting to victory): 2022 Masters, 2023 WM Phoenix Open.

He has been inside the top 10 of the leaderboard in 10 of the last 13 Major championship rounds (dating to the second round of the 2022 U.S. Open).

The 2022 Masters champion is seeking his second Major title; last player to win a major in consecutive years: Collin Morikawa/2020 PGA Championship and 2021 Open Championship.

Has two top-10s in three previous PGA Championship starts (T4/2020, T8/2021, MC/2022)
Finished T15 in last week’s AT&T Byron Nelson, his 12th consecutive result of T12 or better on TOUR.

Is a six-time PGA TOUR winner including two wins this season, highlighted by a five-stroke victory at THE PLAYERS Championship (other: WM Phoenix Open).

Currently No. 2 in the Official World Golf Ranking, he needs a solo-fourth or better to have a chance to return to No. 1; will return to No. 1 with a victory.

Corey Conners‘ (T1/-5) 135 marks career-low 36-hole total in a Major.

His third 36-hole lead/co-lead on TOUR (0-for-2 in converting to victory) and second in a major (held solo lead at the 2021 PGA Championship and finished T17).

Is making his 18th start in a major and his fifth at the PGA Championship (T64/2019, MC/2020, T17/2021, MC/2022).

All three of his top-10s in Majors have come at the Masters Tournament (T6/2022 Masters, T8/2021 Masters, T10/2020 Masters).

Has two career PGA TOUR wins (2019 Valero Texas Open, 2023 Valero Texas Open); one of 14 players since 1971 to earn first and second TOUR wins in the same event.

Is one of three Canadian winners on TOUR this season, the most ever in a single TOUR season on record (since 1983) (others: Mackenzie Hughes/Sanderson Farms Championship, Adam Svensson/The RSM Classic).
