Diksha picks Henrik’s brains, gets valuable putting tips

Last week on the Ladies European Tour (LET) may not have been profitable for Diksha Dagar in terms of the result, but the young golfer certainly came away richer in experience. The Scandanivian Mixed was co-hosted by Annika Sorenstam and Henrik Stenson, both legends in world golf, but they took time out to interact with Diksha.

It was a busy week for Henrik, a former World No 2, and Annika, a venerable name in women’s golf, as they had to ensure seamless running of the tournament while also teeing off as competitors. In a touching gesture, Annika personally received Diksha and thanked her for participating in the mixed event that had pros from the European Tour and LET.

Notes were exchanged too and Diksha shared with the legend how she is protecting her dodgy back with a new training routine. After a good start with a card of 70, Diksha floundered and the 73 led to a missed cut at the Vallda Golf and Country Club in Gothenburg.

With little to do, Diksha took to the range and was lucky to find Henrik at practice. The session that followed was priceless and the putting tips from Henrik will remain with Diksha for posterity.
