Two wins in two starts, Schaufflele issues warning ahead of 150th Open

Xander Schauffele (1st/-7) carded a final-round even-par 70 to defeat Kurt Kitayama by one stroke at the Genesis Scottish Open.

Schauffele earned his seventh PGA TOUR win in his 135th start at the age of 28 years, 8 months, 15 days. Joins Scottie Scheffler (4) and Sam Burns (3) with three or more wins this season.

A recent winner of the Travelers Championship, Schuaffele wins back-to-back starts for the second time in his career.

Schauffele improved to 2-for-6 when attempting to convert a 54-hole lead on the PGA TOUR.

With the win, collected 500 FedExCup points and moves from No. 8 to No. 3 in the FedExCup standings.

Kitayama, a two-time DP World Tour winner, finished runner-up for the second time this season on the PGA TOUR.

As the top three players not otherwise exempt who finished in the top 10 this week, Kitayama, Brandon Wu and Jamie Donaldson gain entry into The Open Championship.

Schaufffele becomes the fifth American winner of the Genesis Scottish Open, joining Michael Allen (1989), Tom Lehman (1997), Phil Mickelson (2013) and Rickie Fowler (2015).

Became the first player to win in back-to-back starts on TOUR since Scottie Scheffler (2022 WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play, Masters Tournament). Victory is his seventh consecutive top 20 finish on TOUR.

Became the sixth third-round leader/co-leader to win the Genesis Scottish Open since 2010.

Became the 16th third-round leader/co-leader to win an individual stroke-play event on TOUR this season.

Joohyung Kim finished a career-best third, two strokes behind Schauffele. His previous-best finish on TOUR was T15 at the 2021 Puerto Rico Open.

First and second-round leader Cameron Tringale (T6) picked up his career-high fifth top-10 finish of the season.

Reigning U.S. Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick (T6) has been inside the top 10 on the leaderboard in 17 of his last 21 rounds on TOUR.

Jordan Smith (T24) played the par-3 17th hole in 5-under this week (birdie-eagle-birdie-birdie); week highlighted by his second-round ace that resulted in a Genesis GV70; his caddie, Sam Matton, received a GV60.
