Krishnav Nikhil Chopraa picked up from where he left off at the last NCR Cup and shot a 2-under 70 to take the early lead, a whopping eight shots, on the opening day of the Delhi Golf Society’s 12th Junior Golf Tournament on Wednesday.
Opening with a birdie, Krishnav collected shots on the 8th, 10th and 14th holes. His lone blemish came on the par 4 16th. Krishnav’s was the lone sub-par card on Day 1, which saw Categories A and B battle it out on the Lodhi Course.

Tied at 8-over 78 in this Category, Abhyudaya Rawat and Yash Chaudhary have their work cut out on Thursday. Parth Chaudhary and Devin Singh are T4 with a score of 79.
In the Amateur Category, Umed opened with a 78 to open up a four-shot lead over Abhiraj Singh Benipal (82). Raunik Kharkwal, Md Akram and Arjun Dabas are T3 with cards of 87.

Delhi Golf Society’s Camp of Excellence student, a programme powered by the Container Corporation of India, Zara Anand, who was the overall winner in A and B Girls Combined, opened with on a strong note in A Girls, the level-par card giving her a two-shot lead over Preitisha Gill. At 75, Keya Badugu lies sole third.
Kartik Singh, who ruled B Boys in the last chapter of the NCR Cup, opened with a quiet 74 to nose ahead of Aman Sharma (77) and Anas Khan (79).
Among B girls, Ayesha Gupta, another Camp of Excellence pupil, shot an opening 76 but the effort was enough to give her a handy eight-shot cushion over Apeksha David. Myra Kumar is third at 86.
In A and B Boys combined, Krishnav and Kartik occupy the top-two spots while Zara and Preitisha are the top names in the combined girls’ list.
