Not just integrity, golf fosters friendships too

This was a chat alright but with some different shades of emotion.

Camaraderie was the overiding sentiment as Anisha Agarwalla and Neha Tripathi took a walk down memory lane and recounted an association that started years back in Kolkata.

It was an inter-school golf competition and there were different roles to be played. Anisha featured in one of the teams and Neha, then a greenhorn pro, was a rules official.

Instances such as these have cemented the bond, and time has made it stronger. Their paths cross a lot more frequently now with Neha a senior pro at the Women’s Golf Association of India and Anisha looking to play a full season on the domestic tour.

A lot of notes have been exchanged over the years and among the tips Neha, wiser from the experience of 16 titles and a decade-plus run, has for her ‘baby’ friend, especially as Anisha vies to make a mark on the pro circuit, is to never give up on her dreams, come what may.
