Tripathi has completed a decade on the @wgaofindia. Given the times last year, the celebrations were muted as she observed the landmark with husband and Davis Cupper Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan @jntennis in the tranquil settings of Pondicherry. With 16 wins on the WGAI, 5 of which came in 2013, “it has been an exhilarating journey and there’s nothing else I’d want to replace it with”.
Among the pinnacles are the win by 14 shots Classic Golf & Country Club in 2018 and a career-best round of 10-under 62, which had @gary.player applauding. “A bunch of things that stood out for me in that round. I finally found the elusive “in the zone” mentality that athletes search for as I didn’t know my score till the 18th fairway. The confidence in the shots, the visualisation process — everything was on point.

It was also a mixture of the belief I had and my caddy @vickysharma6419 showed in me. Even the shots that didn’t end up where I wanted them to be, we had a recovery plan. My favourite part was how I finished the round. The 6-feet eagle putt to get to 10-under and the fist pump was a good way to cap the day.”
