It was a reunion after five years.
Jeev Milkha Singh, a mentor of sorts to Armaan Gawde, the wide-eyed pupil. The Mumbai kid was seven when he won the finale of Jeev’s junior series at the Chandigarh Golf Club.
But for COVID, the two would have got a chance to interact more in ensuing events, but as they would agree, time rules us all.
The Sunday gone by presented another opportunity that will fuel Armaan’s chase for glory on the greens till the next meeting.

The setting was pleasing to the eye but a stern test of skill. The Laguna Golf Phuket was host to the Asian Tour in December last, and it was on this championship course that ties were renewed with Armaan’s mother and coach Sean Harrison watching from the sidelines.

From the clinic, at the driving range, to playing the front nine, the lessons handed down by the master were invaluable nuggets and were soaked in by Armaan, who showed why he is an exciting talent.
