As expected, the Lodhi Course bared its fangs which led to quite a few changes on the leaderboard on Day 2 of the 4th Junior NCR Cup, organised by the Delhi Golf Society, at the Delhi Golf Club.
The sole leader in ‘A’ Boys, Pratham Sawant, who shot a 75 on Wednesday, slipped and now shares the lead with Rakshit Dahiya (76, 77) at 153. Sawant carded a six-over 78. Aarnav Sharma maintained his position with an identical 77 to be a shot back.
Among girls in the category, Mannat Brar put up a better show by posting a 76, compared to 78 on Day 1, to be ahead by two of Hunar Brar, who too put up a vastly-improved performance (84, 72) and Ragini Navet (80, 76).

After opening with a 70, Aarav D Shah’s round of 77 proved how fickle the sport can be, but despite the slip, the six-footer maintained his lead in ‘B’ Boys, albeit the lead down to three over Kanav Chauhan (77, 73). Kuldeep Dhesi follows with rounds of 81, 78.
Kashika Misra (84, 80), Ayesha Gupta (89, 79) and Mehveen Adil (85, 86) make up the top three in ‘B’ Girls.
The two-day action commenced on the nine-hole Peacock Course with Categories C, D and E teeing off on what was Delhi’s hottest April day in 12 years with the temperature soaring to 43.5 degrees Celsius.
Harjai Milkha Singh looks good to carry forward father Jeev’s legacy on the golf course. The bespectacled youngster shot a 68 to share the lead in ‘C’ Boys with Jay Handa. Anas Khan (69) was T3 with Sohang Har Kantor and Vivaan Aggarwal.
Samaira Tomar was the top name in ‘C’ Girls by some distance as she shot a 68 to lead by eight shots over the pair of Kashivi Panghal and Myra Kumar (76).
The prolific Chaitanya Pandey would perhaps be disappointed with the four-over 66, but the card was enough to give him the opening day’s lead among ‘D’ Boys. Krishnav Gupta was five behind at 71, followed by Raajveer Suri and Vidit Aggarwal (73).
Among girls in the category, Anushka Gupta was top with a 65, followed by Dalisha Chetry (74) and Tanvi Kaur (77).
In Category ‘E’, the kids compete over 18 holes, nine each over two days. In boys, Jot Sarup Gupta leads by two with a 33. Divjot Gupta (35) and Siddhant Sharma (37) are next.
Amaira Gulati (35), Juno Kalyani (42) and Varushka Gupta (45) make the top three in girls in this segment.
With cut applied after two days in Categories ‘A’ and ‘B’, expect the competition to be keener on Friday.
