
KEPTA, Ambala, is one of those gems on the Indian golf circuit that mostly stays hidden from public view, but whenever a tournament comes calling, the venue is at its resplendent best. Not only are the conditions pristine, the players are put to test in a way that it makes the outing memorable.

One such occasion when the golf course got a chance to display its prowess was Event 6 of the Indian Golf Union’s North Zone Sub-Junior/Junior Feeder Tour, organsised by Ace Golf.
The weather may not have ideal but that had little bearing on Adhiraj Gill. On top of his game, Adhiraj shot rounds of 1-over 73 and 1-under 71 to wrap up two days of commanding golf with a 13-shot win at 144 over Athrav Rishi, who came next at 157 (80, 77). Sumit Sharma 158 (81, 77) and Neeraj 158 (72, 86) shared the third spot.
Fresh from her triumph at the Aravalli Golf Course, Gurbanie Singh Star 155 (78, 77) notched another top spot in A and B Girls Combined with a six-shot verdict over Deepika Tomar 161 (77, 84). Divija Bhushan Rao 170 (83, 87) and Miraaya Sood 170 (80, 80) tied for third.
Samriddh Singh Thakur’s emergence as champion in Category B was a result of steady golf. The going could have been better but the rounds of 5-over 77 were enough to give him victory. Rao Vardhan trailed by five shots at 159 (78, 81), and was followed by Harry Singh at 162 (85, 77).
Shan Alvi has made winning a habit, and once again he was the top name in C Boys with a commanding show, which included a vastly-improved performance of 4-under 72 on the back of a 77 on Day 1. With a total of 145, Shan zoomed to a nine-shot win over Abram Chawla 154 (77, 77). Pradhyumna VU came next with a total of 166 (84, 82).
Among girls in this category, another prolific name, Ojaswini Saraswat, made the top spot hers with a total of 149 on the back of contrasting rounds of 83 and 66 at this par-72 layout. There was a yawning gap as Aarushi Sharma followed with a 176, and Vidushi Singh at 184.

Category D Boys was a close affair with Ojasv D 143 (71, 72) edging out Vedaansh Jain by a shot (73, 71). Pratham Vir Singh took the third spot with a total of 154 (75, 79).
Aaradhya Rawat emerged the top name in D Girls with rounds of 78, 77, which put her at 155. Unnati Singh was four shots back with rounds of 83, 76. Aadya Kaushal totalled 161 with scores of 78 and 83.
Playing across 18 holes over two days, the scores were quite competitive in Categories E and F. Showing the way was Gitansh Singh Pathania with rounds of 34, 33 for a total of 67, which gave him a five-shot win over Aprateem Srivastava 72 (38, 34) and Bhavy Rattan 72 (35, 37).
Mahira Sharma made the top spot hers in E Girls with identical scores of 37 and a total of 74. Aadya Dayal 81 (43, 38) and Inaaya Jain (124) completed the lineup.
Anaysha Bhargav showed heart by shaving four shots from her Day 1 card of 43, and Day 2’s 39 helped her total 82 for a four-shot win over Kaaira Khunga (41, 45). Amaira Kaushal came in next with a 97 in F Girls.
Among the boys, Kairav Gupta 83 (43, 40) led Snitik Chand Thakur 91 (49, 42) and Arzan Farukh 91 (46, 45).
