The Indian Golf Union was back at Gurgaon’s picturesque AFT & Sports Complex, and the North Zone Feeder Tour, organised by Ace Golf, rolled out Event 8 over the weekend that went by.

The season reaching a climax, and with it the race to seal spots to the national amateur circuit also hotting up, the competition was keen.
Like every golf course, AFT & Sports Complex comes with its share of unique challenges that test golfers’ skill and temperament, and those who passed the test were aptly rewarded.
Shiraz Monga, a seasoned name on the circuit, showed how to tame the conditions by finishing the two-day event with an impressive 4-under 132. Opening with a card of 1-over 69 at the par-68 layout, Shiraz stepped up manifold by going low on the final day with a 5-under 63, riding the benefits of a lucrative back-nine to emerge the top name among gentlemen.

At 134, there was a tie for second, but Mirajul Ali scored over Chaitanya Pandey and Karan Mehto on account of his better under-par card of 2-under 66 on Day 2.
The ever-improving Mirajul was followed by Chaitanya, who shot identical scores of 67. After opening with a 3-under 65, Karan was unable to build on the start and finished with a one-over 69 to complete the podium line-up.
It was a close contest between Ishita and Sarah Solanki in the ladies’ category, and the former emerged top with scores of 73 and 70 to total 143. It was a remarkable recovery by Sarah as she shot the only under-par round in the section, 1-under 67, which made up for the opening day’s 78 and left her just two shots back.
Anee Goyal completed the trophy winners at third, and ended with a two-day total of 151 (77, 74).
