It was a poignant last week for Varun Parikh as he topped PGTI’s Final Stage Q-School, and with it has come the chance to step up and chase his dreams on the domestic pro circuit in 2022.

Ever since turning pro in 2019, the 23-year-old has had his share of learnings, both highs and lows. While the top-20s at the Gujarat Open and Players Championship in Panchkula would rank among his best results, the numerous missed cuts too have not been forgotten.

In fact, those weeks would have been the driving force as Varun teed off at the Kalhaar Blues and Greens Golf Club in Ahmedabad, a venue that is almost home. Surging into the lead after Round 2, Varun held his own and took it to a logical conclusion.

As he spoke in the moment of triumph, the rush of emotion was noticeable. After all, it is a fresh start and Varun intends to make the most of it as a new season beckons with fresh hopes.
