One of the highlights of the final day at the NCR Cup 10th Junior Golf Tournament was the way in which Delhi Golf Society’s (DGS) Camp of Excellence student Jai Bahl stepped up at the Lodhi Course and came away from the Delhi Golf Club with the runner-up trophy in Category A Boys.

Jai, who is scheduled to leave for the US soon on a golf scholarship, scripted a comeback that defines an athlete’s grit. Opening with a 79 at the par-72 course, Jai kept improving. The 76 on Day 2 was followed by the icing on the cake, a level-par card, to lift himself from the overnight fifth to second with a three-day total of 227.

Making the most of the familiar settings, Rakshit Dahiya completed a wire-to-wire win in A Boys. A final day 75 gave Rakshit, also a DGS Camp of Excellence student, a three-shot win with a total of 224.
In A Girls, Mannat Brar too stepped up in her way with an under-par 71 to win by seven shots with a 218. Kashika Misra followed the DGS pupil at 225 after shooting a 76 on the last day.

As is often the case, Camp of Excellence students ruled the roost, and was brought to the fore again by Ranveer Mitroo’s show with a final day 72 for his best card this week in B Boys. The 221 gave him a five-shot cushion over Kartik Singh, who too shot his best score with a 73.
In girls in this category, Prarthana Khanna and Ayesha Dutt were the top names. While Prarthana finished with a three-day total of 232, Ayesha was three shots back at 235.
There was double joy for Mannat and Ranveer as they finished top in A&B Category Combined.

In C Boys, the leaderboard read as follows, Arihaan Beri (130), Chaitanya Pandey (133) and Aney Shankkar (139). Among girls, Anushkha Gupta (136), Riddhima Singh (141) and Naina Kapoor (148) made it 1-2-3 in this category that competed on the par-62 Peacock Course.
With a two-day total of 133, Jot Sarup Gupta prevailed in a playoff over Sohraab Singh Talwar to win D Boys. Raajveer Singh Suri finished a shot back at 134. In girls, Ojaswini Saraswat won with a 1-over 125 and two-day total of 125. It was a commanding win as Dalisha Chetry finished at 138, followed by Annika Chendira at 153.
In E Boys, Divgot Gupta (66), Avviraaj Kalia (67) and Nihaal Cheema (68) made it a closely-contested affair. In girls, Amaira Gulati worked up a commanding win with a two-day total of 74. She was followed by Dhriti Singh (85) and Unnati Singh (98).
