Riya Jadon went into the final day of the Delhi Golf Society’s (DGS) NCR Cup – 8th Junior Tournament with a comfortable four-shot lead over Alysha Dutt, but the uncertainty of sport caught up at the par-72 AEPTA course in Dhaula Kuan.
Alysha’s 79 and Riya’s 83 meant they were level at 247 and the combined Category ‘A’ and ‘B’ Girls saw the tournament’s only playoff on Thursday. The girls battled it out over three holes before Riya prevailed. Aditi Bhardwaj 262 (86, 89, 87) was placed third.

Once again, DGS’ camp of excellence, which is supported by the Container Corporation of India, proved its utility as its students did themselves proud. Ranveer Mitroo overhauled a four-shot deficit to claim the stop spot in ‘B’ Boys with a three-day total of 229 (79, 75, 75). Overnight leader Kanav Chauhan finished a shot back with a scores of 76, 74, 80. Vivaan Aggarwal and Udai Aditya Middha, a DGS member, were T3 at 245.
Shat Mishra made it a wire-to-wire win in ‘A’ Boys with a total of 219 (75, 69, 75). Sukhman Singh of DGS maintained his overnight rank and finished five shots back at 224 (76, 74, 74). Sagar Mehto followed at 236 (75, 82, 79).
Among Amateurs, Arin Ahuja completed a thumping win, winning by 15 shots at 230 (80, 78, 72). Rohan Galhotra 245 (83, 82, 80) and Chandan Kumar Yadav 246 (83, 83, 80) were second and third respectively.
Mudit Aggarwal 167 (82, 85) was the top name in ‘C’ Boys with a three-shot win over Aditya Bhardwaj 170 (88, 82). At 175, Anas Khan was third.
Rehnoor Malik sped past the competition with a final day 84, overnight 88, to complete a eight-shot win in ‘C’ Girls over last night’s leader Smira Bhambri at 180 (87, 93). Avni Atreya was third at 210.
Going with the trend, Krishnav Gupta completed a 10-shot win in ‘D’ Boys at 167 (88, 79) over Shan Alvi 177 (91, 86). Heydaan Bajaj was third with 179.
Among girls in this category, the ranking read Dalisha Chetry (159), who won by a whopping 25 shots over Annika Chendira (184). Abner Sengar was third at 188.
Avviraj Kalia held his own in Category ‘E’ with a two-day total of 83 (42, 41), which gave him a 11-shot win over Rehana Malik 94 (47, 47). Kabir Kanwar was next at 112.
