Angad Cheema focused on perfecting a method that’s worked

There is a method to Angad Cheema’s recent run on the Professional Golf Tour of India.

Three top-5s in five starts towards the close of 2022, and now T4 and in contention at the Players Championship in Tollygunge Club.

While the work with coach is an ongoing one, Angad, on his part, is making a concerted effort, as he puts it, “to make fewer rash decisions which lead him to be harsh on himself”.

Normally a picture of calm on the golf course, there are occasions when the composure gets hit and that spells trouble. An instance was Hole 15 on Thursday, where Angad got ruffled. The bogey had a cascading effect and led to two more dropped shots towards close.

Its a work in progress, and Angad will hope that the pressure of playing under the gun will have no bearing as he chases another win on the morrow.
