Coming off his best season on PGTI, Arjun Sharma could well have won more than once last year. Consistency, or lack of it, held him back.
Day 1 of the Gujarat Open was no different. Arjun was off to a rollicking start, 7-under after 12 holes, and above all, bogey-free. There was a flounder towards close, but Arjun clawed back to be three off the lead with a 3-under 69.

Attribute the comeback to affinity, and is what he will be relying on this week at the Kalhaar Blues & Greens are factors that work to his advantage.

“This is a ball striker’s golf course; I hit it good off the tee, which is critical here, and that presents a lot of birdie chances,” said Arjun.
The quick greens too find favour as well, and all of this could present this gritty pro with the opportunity he has been searching for long.
