Winters are the best time for competitive golf, and with the chill yet to set in, the enjoyable nip in the air was the ideal incentive to bring talent forth as the Delhi Golf Society came calling with its latest offering, NCR Cup, 18th Junior and Amateur Golf Tournament.

The venue was AEPTA, a golfing nerve centre of the National Capital, and spread over three days, the tussle for supremacy across all age categories was intense at this par-72 facility.
The ever-improving Devin Singh 230 (78, 75, 77) added another feather in the cap with a six-shot win over Ritik Madan 236 (79, 79, 78) in A Boys.
Mahreen Bhatia 229 (78, 78, 73) too was convincing in her win in A Girls, working up a nine-shot cushion over Ahaana Tewari 238 (81, 81, 76).
Mirajul Ali (77, 80, 76) continued his trend of featuring prominently on the leaderboard by prevailing in the playoff for top honours in Amateur Boys against Raunik (75, 81, 77) after both players finished the three-day event tied at 233.
Eti Chaudhary (247) and Tannishtha Dhyani (252) were the top names in Amateur Girls.

Chaitanya Pandey and Sakshity Pureandre are familiar names on the podium, and it was no different this time with the former and latter making it 1-2 in B Boys. While Chaitanya rounded off the week with a total of 228 (73, 77, 78), Sakshity posted a 239 with rounds of 79, 83, 77.
There was more glory for Chaitanya as he topped A & B Boys Combined ahead of Devin Singh and Ritik Madan.
Rashi Mishra was impressive in B Girls, topping with 229 (76, 81, 72), followed by Rehnoor Malik at 250.
Courtesy the finish, Rashi also captured the top spot in A & B Girls Combined ahead of Mahreen and Ahaana.
It was a two-day affair for Categories C, D and E, and going with it, Krishnav Gupta did what was required, placing himself atop C Boys with a score of 160 (82, 78). Medansh Singh Bhist 164 (86, 78) and Manavendra Singh Negi 169 (86, 83) were next in order.
It was a close contest as well among girls in this category, and Abner Sengar 166 (82, 84) scripted a two-shot win over Dalisha Chetry 168 (88, 80). Divija Rao finished third with a tally of 174.
The highlight of Drona Singh Dhull’s outing was going under-par on both days to win with a total of 4-under 140 (71, 69). Samar Baijal 147 (72, 75) and Shauryaveer Behera 149 (73, 76) completed the order.
With rounds of 79, 80 for a total of 159, Aaradhya Rawat completed a 12-shot win in D Girls over Vidushi Singh and Rehana Malik, both of whom tied at 171.
Spread across two days, contestants in Category E competed over 18 holes with intent. Taanush Kumar (75) put together scores of 37 and 38 to win by two shots over Kabir Kanwar 77 (39, 38). Samar Singh was third at 80 (37, 43).
In girls, Naaysha S Sinha won by five shots with rounds of 41, 39 and a score of 80. Suhani Chandra 85 (45, 40) was followed by Aahana Shrivastava and Aadya Dayal (86).
