Yuvraj Sandhu won the Players Championship in Chandigarh by a shot to post his third title on PGTI.

Three wins in six months on the Professional Golf Tour of India makes for excellent copy, but the bottom-line of Yuvraj Singh Sandhu’s success is: KEEP GRINDING.

After knocking repeatedly a number of times since the start of last season, the door finally opened for the 25-year-old at Digboi in November. The monkey off the back, seldom has a week passed thereafter when Yuvraj did not turn up and contend.

His stats are a giveaway. Following the breakthrough, he posted top-10s the ensuing two weeks, and carried forward the momentum to the current season.

The missed cut at Glade One Masters in March the lone blemish, Yuvraj has gone from strength to strength. Throw in the top-6 for his best finish on the Asian Tour’s DGC Open, and the wins in Kolkata and his home course, Chandigarh Golf Club, on Friday, here is a man eager to make the most of the opportunities that come his way.

Of course, all his three wins rank up there, but to pull it off on the 18th green of his home course in front of his parents, Friday will stay etched for a long time.
