
A new season brings along renewed hope and opportunities, and the competitive scores in Event 3 of the Indian Golf Union’s North Zone Amateur Feeder Tour, organised by Ace Golf India, provided an insight into what lies ahead as the year unfolds.

As the launch pad for those eying the leap of faith to the professional ranks, the contest in ‘Amateur Gentlemen’ was competitive. Ansh Dhingra and Rahul Agarwal lived up to the billing by putting up a keen contest through the two days of competition.

There can’t be a better test of mind and skill than the links layout at the Golden Greens Golf and Country Club, and Ansh and Rahul rose to the challenge to put up a stirring show.
There was little to separate the two, and when it got done, Ansh 145 (72, 73) prevailed by a shot over Rahul 146 (71, 75).
Sakshi emerged the top name among ‘Amateur Ladies’ with a two-day total of 155 (77, 78). Nairaa Sinha came next at 164 (78, 86).

For the ‘Juniors and Sub-Juniors’, the week gone by was Event 4 on the North Zone Feeder Tour calendar, and the two days threw up some engaging performances.
Siidhaan Chhibber stood head and shoulders above in ‘A’ Boys with his two-day score of 149, made up of rounds of 76 and 73. There was a significant gap as Harry Singh 158 (81, 77) trailed by nine shots.
The contest among girls in the category panned out on similar lines with Yaashna Duggal 167 (85, 82) winning by 11 shots over Zoya Borka 178 (93, 85).
Opening with a creditable 2-over 74, Vivaan Sachdeva floundered on the final day with 83, but yet emerged champion with a five-shot cushion over Ankit Gupta 162 (81, 81).
The margin separating the winner and runner-up in ‘B’ Girls was identical with Bhuvi Srivastava compiling a total of 163 (75, 88) over Abner Sengar 168 (83, 85).
Drona emerged the standout name of the week by going under-par right through with rounds of 70 and 71 for a final score of three-under 141 in ‘C’ Boys.
With a performance as commanding, the margin of victory was huge as Md Rehan was the next best name at 164 (87, 77).
Unnati Singh emerged the top name among ‘C’ Girls as she put together a score of 154 (78, 76) for a convincing win over Aadya Kaushal 167 (80, 87).
Gitansh Singh Pathania put up a show in ‘D’ Boys that holds out a lot of hope for the future. With rounds of 75 and 74, the 149 handed him a three-shot win over Tansh Bansal 152 (73, 79).
Among girls, the competition boiled down to Mahira Sharma and Aadya Dayal. The former emerged winner with rounds of 86, 87 (173) which gave her a comfortable lead over Aadya 184 (90, 94).

The tiny tots in Categories ‘E’ and ‘F’ showed immense energy through the competition with several notable performances coming to light.
Given their age, it was a close contest in ‘E’ Boys. Lakshit Deswal posted rounds of 36 and 34 for an under-par finish to pip Zowra Veer Sikand, who shot 38 and 34, by two shots.
Devyani Dhull wasn’t tested enroute the win in ‘E’ Girls. With a final score of 80 (43, 37), she finished streets ahead of Anveshikha and Sanchita Singh Rathore (90).
Yuvaan Aggarwal took the top prize in ‘F’ Boys with rounds of 44 and 46, while Tanvi was the winner in ‘F’ Girls with a total of 86 (41, 45). She was followed by Pranaya Singh and Arya Munjal.
