The Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022 will feature eight days of cricketing action as the sport makes a comeback to the “Colonial Games” after 24 years.
The women-only cricket competition, featuring eight teams, will be played under the T20 format.
The CWG 2022 schedule will be announced on Friday (tomorrow).
A ‘List A’ cricket competition was last included in the 1998 Commonwealth Games, played at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The 22nd edition of the Commonwealth Games is slated from July 28 to August 8. The multiple sports competition will feature over 4,500 athletes in 19 disciplines.
The swimming and diving competition will be held for 11 days, while the gymnastics events will last for eight days and athletics for seven days.
Badminton, basketball 3×3, boxing, cycling – track, field hockey, lawn bowls, netball, rugby sevens, squash, table tennis, triathlon and wheelchair basketball 3×3 are the other medal disciplines.
