Sunrisers Hyderabad has announced vital signings as the franchisees began preparing their plans for the Indian Premier League mega auction. The Hyderabad-based IPL franchisee has roped in West Indies batting legend Brian Lara and former Australian batter Simon Katich.
Seasoned Australian Tom Moody will replace head coach Trevor Bayliss.
Lara has been engaged as the strategic advisor-cum-batting coach, whereas Katich will be an assistant coach. He will be replacing fellow Australian Brad Haddin. Former India batsman Hemang Badani will be joining two batting icons as a fielding coach and talent scout.
Sunrishers Hydrabad, who finished at the rock bottom in the IPL 2021, are relying on the best in the business to change the team’s fortunes. Former South Africa speedster Dale Steyn has been engaged as the bowling coach.
The new hirings mean that the Sunrishers Hydrabad have fully overhauled their support staff.

Iconic tweaker Muttiah Muralitharan, however, has been retained as the spin bowling coach of the Orange Army.
The think tank will have an urgent task on their hand to draw strategy for the upcoming mega auction, which according to reports is likely to take place in Bengaluru during the second week of February.
The IPL from the 2022 season will be a ten-team affair with the inclusion of the Lucknow and Ahmedabad franchisees.
The 16th edition of league may begin in the first week of April with champions Chennai Super Kings hosting the first match. Formal dates for the IPL 2022 are still awaited, but reports suggest that the franchisees have been informed that the new season will start from April 2.
