With the IPL Auction 2022 welcoming two more franchises to the Indian Premier League, Lucknow Super Giants being one, there were bound to be many big bids to snare the top players and KL Rahul was one major beneficiary, matching the record bid of Rs 17 crore for the new franchise, which will be in the fray along with Gujarat Titans. Rahul’s exit from Punjab Kings was pretty much decided since the team was not doing well at all and no top player wants to be dragged down with an under-performing side. PBKS’ loss is potentially a major gain for Lucknow Super Giants as they will seek to build on this in the IPL 2022 Auction.

With Rahul at the helm, Lucknow will be bidding big to make a solid team and get into the fray with full force, as they vie with nine other sides to make the most of their opportunity in the mega IPL Auction 2022, in Bengaluru on February 12 and 13.
