The IPL Auction 2022 will see battle lines being re-drawn with many new faces joining some of the old guard as 10 teams, up from the eight till 2021, will vie to come out with the best possible combination from among players retained and the new faces that will adorn their list, when the IPL 2022 Auction is held in Bengaluru on February 12 and 13.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK), with their dedicated fans who have an emotional bond with the franchise, will once again be hoping to be the team to beat. Their retentions however also reflect the way things will be, with Ravindra Jadeja getting a bigger purse than eternal favourite MS Dhoni.
Following are the IPL Auction 2022 retentions for CSK:
Ravindra Jadeja (Rs. 16 crore)
MS Dhoni (Rs. 12 crore)
Moeen Ali (Rs 8 crore)
Ruturaj Gaikwad (Rs. 6 crore)
Total spend: Rs 42 crore
Balance Purse: Rs 48 crore
After their retentions, CSK are left with 21 slots to fill at the IPL Auction, with seven slots open for overseas players.
