Sixteen-year-old Daryl Low fired a closing one-under-par 71 to clinch the Open Boys’ Division title as the three-day EFG Singapore Junior Masters drew to a close on Wednesday.
Low’s three-day total of one-under-par 215 at the Laguna National Golf and Country Club gave him a commanding eight-shot win over Ethan Lim, who signed for a 74 to take second place.

India’s Jayaditya Saluja meanwhile posted rounds of 74, 71 and 78 to finish in third place at the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) points-earning junior event.
17-year-old Shannon Tan emerged victorious in the Open Girls Division as she closed with a 77 to emerge atop the leaderboard, six shots ahead of Samantha Dizon from the Philippines, who carded a 67 to take second place.
“This is my second win at the Laguna National Golf and Country Club this year, and it’s really my happy winning ground. It (the win) is another confidence booster for me, and I know I can only improve and get better,” said Tan.
Although Dizon missed out on a grandstand finish this week, the 17-year-old Filipino was pleased the event had given her the opportunity to make further improvements to her game.
“I need to continue to improve on my maturity, especially the mental and emotional aspect of my game. If I can do that, I will be able to do even better,” said Dizon, who picked up golf when she was eight.
Hong Kong’s Arianna Lau, who was playing in her first international event in two years, carded another identical 74 to add to her similar scores in first and second round, settling for third place in the Open division.
The 14-year-old Lau, however, topped the Under-15 Girls Division and was delighted to have the opportunity to tee up against her peers abroad again.
“It feels so good to be able to compete overseas and be in that competitive mode again. Overall, I have been very consistent as I shot the same score the last three days. I’ve been quite steady, considering this is a course I’m not familiar with. I made several friends this week and hope to be back again,” said Lau, who was selected for the Hong Kong Junior squad at the age of seven and is part of the EFG Young Athletes Foundation.
Over 70 players including boys and girls representing Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, China, India, USA, UK, Germany, and South Korea and 14 world amateur ranked players teed off at Laguna National Golf and Country Club’s Masters course for the three-day tournament.
