As far as the Hero Women’s Indian Open is concerned, Aditi Ashok is two off the lead, but this is not about her run at the DLF Golf and Country Club.
This is about a personal experience while driving to Ambala for a junior event.
The man at the wheel, an elderly gentleman, has only one connect with golf — he lives next to the golf course. He took us by surprise when he mentioned Aditi out of the blue and how he woke up early to watch her contend till the end for a medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The spirited show won over many like him from the non-golfing population, and has surely made a mark on national consciousness.

Asked, Aditi shared her experience from that fateful week.
Another week on Tour for Amandeep Drall
At the time of this interview, Amandeep Drall was a tad crestfallen. After Thursday’s 67, which equalled her best round on the LET, Friday’s 72 was a comedown, and hence the minor slip on the leaderboard at that point.

The shuffle that ensued later in the day, quite normal with the DLF Golf & Country Club playing its part in the churn, Amandeep is now tied for the lead, but the approach over the weekend will remain the same.

The familiarity of this turf, the known faces do raise expectations from well wishers but Amandeep is deflecting all of this by viewing this week as any other week on Tour.
Tricolour the driving force for Nishtha Madan
As Nishtha Madan puts it, she has very little on the line, unlike a lot many on the LET, this week of the Women’s Indian Open.

In her maiden India outing as a pro, Nishtha, who plays on the Epson Tour, is super proud to make the weekend comfortably at a venue that has been a regular training ground.
Like at the beginning, the weekend too will be approached with no expectations, the focus just being on representing the Tricolour this week on the big stage.
