Scottish Open: Xander Schauffele 18 holes away from back-to-back wins

Following a 4-under 66, Xander Schauffele (1st/-7) holds a two-stroke lead over Rafa Cabrera Bello going into the final day of the Genesis Scottish Open.

Schauffele holds his sixth third-round lead/co-lead on the PGA TOUR (1-for-5 to date).

First and second-round leader Cameron Tringale trails by four strokes following a 4-over 74.

Despite bogeys on his final two holes, Schauffele posted a 4-under 66 to take a two-stroke lead over Cabrera Bello.

Most recent of his six PGA TOUR wins came in his last start at the Travelers Championship; seeking to win in back-to-back starts for the second time in his career (2018 WGC-HSBC Champions, 2019 Sentry Tournament of Champions).

He will become the first player to win in back-to-back starts on the PGA TOUR since Scottie Scheffler (2022 WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play, Masters Tournament).

Beginning with his win with Patrick Cantlay at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, Schauffele has six consecutive top 20 finishes on TOUR. Is one of seven multiple winners this season.

Four-time DP World Tour winner Cabrera Bello (2nd) is seeking his first PGA TOUR victory in his 138th start. He has four third-place finishes on TOUR, most recently at the 2019 Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard.

2022 RBC Heritage champion Jordan Spieth (T3) trails by three in attempt for his 14th TOUR win. He is seeking multiple wins in a season for the fourth time, most recently during the 2016-17 season (three wins, including The Open Championship).

Jordan Smith (T3) has played the par-3 17th hole in 4-under this week (birdie-eagle-birdie).

Making his 464th PGA TOUR start, four-time winner Ryan Palmer (T3) is in search of his first win since the 2019 Zurich Classic of New Orleans (with Jon Rahm).

In attempt to become the fifth wire-to-wire winner of the Genesis Scottish Open, first and second-round leader Tringale (T6) posted a third-round 4-over 74.

Reigning U.S. Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick (T6) posted an even-par 70; he has been inside the top 10 on the leaderboard in 16 of his last 20 rounds on TOUR.
