Balance and focus are critical components in shooting, and areas Chikarangappa S found himself short. But ever since a friend, who is a national-level shooter, starting walking the course with Chikka during tournaments, and watches him practice, Chikka has been able to report progress on these fronts.

Courtesy these tips and other useful inputs, Chikka is ready to mount another assault at the title. He was successful in the opening chapter of the Jeev Milkha Singh Invitational
in 2018, and Chikka could well become the first two-time champion here.

Despite his past success, the going on Saturday won’t be easy as among the contenders and a shot ahead of Chikka in sole lead is the tenacious Gaganjeet Bhullar.
Shamim makes the right moves
Shamim Khan knows when to make the right moves. The climb of nine spots on the penultimate day has placed him six shots off the lead.
This works perfectly with Shamim’s gameplan. Looking at the leaderboard isn’t anyway for him, and Shamim further played down his chances by pointing to the lead.

This is for public consumption, within Shamim, 44, would be smacking his lips at the prospect of running the youth brigade close. It isn’t for nothing that he ranks No 2 on the PGTI’s all-time wins with 15 titles.
It will be interesting to see if experience can trump exuberance on Sunday.
Golfer over engineer
Since the Tour Championship in Jamshedpur last year, Yashas Chandra has been making a concerted effort to prevent the engineer in him from dominating the golfer striving to make a mark.
Over analysis has been like second nature, and often the engineer overpowers the golfer, but this week the golfer has stood his ground so far, and hence the position of strength at the Chandigarh Golf Club.
