Paris-Saint Germain (PSG) can complete their contract with Lionel Messi within two days. The Argentine star striker has on Sunday bid adieu to FC Barcelona, where he had been playing since the age of 17.
The contract, The Athletic has reported, will stay in force for two years at €25 million per annum. The contract also has a clause, which gives option to extend the deal by one more year at the same price.
Messi had reportedly made a direct approach to PSG manager and fellow Argentine Mauricio Pochettino.

Messi on Sunday had bid a tearful adieu to FC Barcelona, confessing at the Press conference that he wanted to stay with the LaLiga club but a deal couldn’t be worked out.
“This year my family and I were convinced we were going to stay here, at home, that is what we all wanted. We thought we would be staying here in Barcelona. The time we’ve had here has been amazing. Today I have to say goodbye to all of this,” Messi had stated at the Press conference.
The Athletic, quoting a source, has further added that there was yet to be a total agreement between Messi and PSG, although nobody is disputing the French capital will be his destination.
Barcelona confirmed in a statement on Thursday that Messi, who has been a free agent since July 1 when his contract with the club expired, will not be staying at the club “because of financial and structural obstacles”.
